Simon Says Week 8- March 1, 2026

Mar 1, 2026    Pastor Chris Johnson

In this powerful message, we're challenged to move beyond passive faith into active love that transforms both our lives and our communities. Drawing from 1 Peter 4:8, we discover the central command is clear: 'Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.' This isn't theoretical love—it's practical, messy, and requires us to show hospitality without grumbling. We're reminded that doing nothing is the silent killer of the gospel. The danger isn't that we'll become bad people, but that we'll become good people who don't do anything that matters. Through the GIFT emphasis—Greet someone, Invite someone, Follow up with someone, and Thank someone for serving. We're given concrete ways to live out this radical love. We learn that love chooses not to be offended at everything and chooses forgiveness over bitterness. As we look around our faith community, we see people who vote differently, think differently, and act differently than we do, yet we're called to love them earnestly. This message challenges us to examine whether we're grumbly hateful or humbly grateful, reminding us that gratitude elevates attitude and that our lives must count for something eternal.
